From freshers to fresh graduates — In response to the cry for an easily accessible, central place for information for AUC students, the Amsterdam University College Student Association (AUCSA) and the Student Council have strengthened their ties and increased their level of cooperation to provide AUC students with clear, concise, and honest information regarding starting, living, and studying at AUC.
Once you have a confirmed place at the University there are a lot of steps that you need to take to finalise. From visa, municipality and tax documents to insurances and banking accounts, there are many documents and many steps to take. We provide you the steps that need to be taken to make the undertaking of starting up in the Netherlands, in Amsterdam, and at AUC less complicated. You can find them under the hub New at AUC.
Living at AUC also brings many questions, including what to do with Belastingdienst, where the nearest ER is, how to set up your internet, or what DUWO is asking from you. Questions regarding these topics can be found under the hub Living.
Studying at AUC is not always as clear as hoped. There are many options to choose from and paths to take. Even though Blackboard provides a lot of information, and we do sometimes link you to the AUC website, we have answered questions, and made information more accessible regarding books, grades, the curriculum structure, study abroad, etc.
If there are essential things missing or you experience any other problem on the Wiki, you are encouraged to contact us through AUCSA (firstname.lastname@example.org). For any other problems, you are also actively encouraged to reach out to your Student Council (email@example.com).
Do you want to contribute? Please, don't hesitate to contact us. Alternatively, on the about page you can see who you can personally approach if you want to drink a coffee and talk about it. In all cases, you can always approach us at the office in the Lower Common-room.
All the best and lots of love,
Your AUCSA and your Student Council(Amsterdam, June 2016)
